Respite Care

Respite is short-term or temporary care of a sick or disabled individual to provide relief to the primary caregiver who is usually a family member.  It can be scheduled on a regular basis or as the need arises.  Respite can be provided in the home by outside services or may be provided by facilities.  The following organizations offer some respite assistance either directly or through grants.  Consult the listings for Caregiver Resources for help researching options and the listings for Financial Concerns & Resources for financial assistance.
