U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD)

HUD.gov
HUD housing is a federal program that helps apartment owners provide reduced rents to low-income tenants. To obtain assistance, you must apply at the property you would like to move into. Eligibility grants you permission to live in that particular property only and is not transferable to another residence. HUD pays the difference between what the resident pays and the total rental amount.

Public Assisted Housing for the Elderly

Public assisted housing for the elderly is generally independent living in an apartment setting offered to low-income eligible individuals through local, state and federal government-funded programs.

Housing listed in this section is subsidized, independent living for seniors. There are also other public housing options in the community that will accept people of all ages, including seniors.
